The Founder’s Wine Club Weekend
We’re inviting our Wine Club members to McGregor for the Founder’s Wine Club Weekend, a long weekend at Lord’s Wines from 2 to 4 October 2026. Over three days, we move from the farm to the cellar and finally to the table, spending time with the people who make the wine.
Friday 2 October
The weekend opens at 18:00 with arrival and a welcome drink, MCC Brut Rosé in hand as guests settle in. Then, from 18:30 to 20:30, we move into a braai with wine, followed by something a little different: a round of Deal or No Deal, The Wine Edition.
Saturday 3 October
The day begins at 09:00 with a full breakfast buffet. Afterwards, at 10:30, a guided cellar tour and barrel tasting gives guests the chance to taste wines still maturing and hear directly from the winemaker about the choices behind each vintage. By midday, the pace slows with cheese boards, wine and lawn games, keeping the afternoon relaxed. As evening approaches, the day builds toward its highlight: a welcome drink at 18:30, followed at 19:30 by The Terroir Elements, a four course dinner paired with new release wines.
Sunday 4 October
Finally, the weekend winds down gently with a farewell breakfast at 09:00, a lucky draw, and a gift bag handover, sending everyone home with a piece of the weekend.
Who it’s for
This weekend is designed for members of the Lord’s Wines Wine Club, although non-members are just as welcome to attend as guests. In particular, it suits anyone who wants more than a tasting room visit: the people behind the wine, a proper cellar tour, and a full weekend away in the Robertson Valley.
Where and when
Lord’s Wines is based in McGregor, in the Robertson Valley, roughly two hours from Cape Town. The Founder’s Wine Club Weekend runs from Friday 2 October to Sunday 4 October 2026. Since accommodation in the village is limited, we recommend booking early if you’re travelling from further afield.
